Shattuck and University.. Saturday afternoon waiting for the walk light to change.. It had been raining off & on through the day and as the evening was approaching, the sky cleared up.
I love eating here but don't go here near as often as I'd like.. but with $5.95 lunch specials you can't go wrong.. so many choices though! The lunch combo includes soup of the day and a spring roll with your meal..
hot & sour soup..
The DH had the Long Life Fish:
batter fried fish with brown rice, veggies and served with spring roll.. I'm assuming his was good, as he didn't leave anything on the plate.
I ordered the curry with "chicken"
curry 'chicken', veggies, brown rice, and spring roll..
closeup of "chicken" curry & veggies:
I liked the curry flavor, and the 'chicken' was pretty good.. I wasn't a fan so much of the vegetables as they are a bit heavy on the zucchini, but otherwise really good. Served with hot tea, the meal was, per usual, very filling! I ended up taking half of mine "to go" and shared my leftovers with the spouse as part of dinner tonight.. Good stuff!
Something's coming soon..
As seen on my way home from school.. The neon beckoned to me, as it does.. and of course once you stop, you'll notice that SW: The Force Awakens can be seen in downtown Berkeley,(just in case you needed to know another place it was showing.) ;)
How many times do you walk down a street and forget to look up and notice the interesting aspects of the architecture around you? (rhetorical question there) I often forget and then am taken by the little bits: the pieces of old Berkeley (or older Berkeley) that remain hiding away due to our getting on with our business of going to and from places.
Taken on Tuesday the 16th, the inside of the Peet's on Shattuck & Kittredge is totally demo'd.. I didn't find out in time before the end of last week what the new plan is, but they'll be closed through the week while they do whatever it is they need to do..
walking home tonight passing Triple Rock.. Shattuck Avenue has lovely holiday lights (and in some cases, decorations) wrapping all the trees on either side of Shattuck Avenue..
